Kettlebell Rock
Swing Along and Sing Along with a Fitness-themed Rendition of a Holiday Classic
Let’s be real, the winter holidays are not a jolly time for everyone, despite what Hallmark, iHeartMedia and Jill Biden’s White House decor compel us to believe.
In the spirit of making some sort of contribution to the “most wonderful time of the year,” I wrote my own carol, which you’ll likely notice is appropriated from one of the most iconic holiday tunes of all time. I think I’ve crushed it with my version.
Rather than being forced to feel merry, I feel mighty. If you are feeling lackadaisical about this time of the year, I encourage you to make it your own in a personalized manner that brings you joy, solace or whatever emotion you want to express. Buck tradition and take that kettlebell by the horns (yes, kettlebells actually have horns! That’s the name given to the sides of the curved handle). The kettlebell is a metaphor for life in this case…
So without further ado, I give you Kettlebell Rock:
Kettlebell, kettlebell, kettlebell rock
Kettlebell swings and kettlebell cleans
Lungin’ and squattin’ up bushels of sweat
With a grueling kettlebell set
Kettlebell, kettlebell, kettlebell rock
Kettlebell rows make those muscles grow
Snatches and presses with finesse and flair
Hoist that kettlebell in the air
You’ll feel so spritely, and so mighty
When you make your kettlebell sway
The sensation builds full body coordination
You’ll really feel the burn the next day!
Giddy-up kettlebell, pick up the pace
Work that kettlebell around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in a few different techniques
That's the kettlebell
That's the kettlebell
That's the kettlebell rock!
Wow. Nice rendition. I feel like if you sang that and did the routine at the same time, it would be a viral video and maybe some $
