This week we’re carving out some time for an EMOM workout. The concept is very simple, and the challenging nature of racing against the clock makes this workout exhilarating (if I do say so myself).
EMOM means every minute on the minute. So you’ll set the clock for sixty seconds, perform a predetermined number of reps of an exercise, and use the remainder of the time to rest. The sooner you complete the reps, the more rest you get.
For this EMOM routine (don’t worry, there will be more!), we’re going to keep it short, simple and sweaty. There’s just one move to master: the kettlebell swing!
We’re going to be doing an alternating swing combination, starting with a one handed swing into a two hand swing, and finishing with another one hand swing using the other arm. Each swing counts as one repetition.
I’ve diversified the number of reps based on fitness levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced). There will be twenty rounds to get through, which means this workout will be twenty minutes long. You can use any kind of interval timer, but here’s a basic one on YouTube.
The format for each EMOM round based on fitness level:
Beginner: ten swings
Intermediate: fifteen swings
Advanced: twenty swings
This concludes another “Workout of the Week” for your exercise enjoyment!

I love the demo of the “two hand/ one hand/ two hand/ one hand” technique. Totally gonna start using that
