I also had no idea when the discipline of bodybuilding truly became a valid lifestyle and profession. While the concept of strength training goes way back to antiquity, it seems that it didn't become accessible until the late 1800s! And it's also fascinating to learn about Enlightenment's impact on the social and cultural discourse around health, wellness and fitness.
