“Movement is medicine” has such a nice ring to it. I used to roll my eyes when a doctor prescribed exercise. My 20 year old self would be astonished by how I’ve evolved!

I agree with you, Janine. Frequent movement is medicine to the body. However, ageing I believe is a beautiful experience. Everyone needs to prioritize sensible eating and keep active in their younger years for a healthier older versions of ourselves.

Aging can be beautiful, or challenging, it all depends on what you do when you are young. I have been practicing yoga for almost 30 years. At age 52 I move and feel better than many people my age. I agree, what you do when you're younger matters.

Way to show that rock who’s the boss!

Function is the key. I want to be able to hike, bike and walk for another 30 years, so that’s my motivation to work out.

But like you said, we need to listen to the body. If the back is feeling tweaked, lighten the load for a couple of days or as long as it takes to recover. Foam roll and stretches

I’m really considering starting my rock lifting club. Your garden set up sounds like an ideal scenario for me too. I’d like to combine a variety of lifting stones within a lush setting of my wife’s plants.

I’m glad that life is going at a nice pace now, and hope we do become like the folks who I see pop up in my Instagram feeds: octogenarians who are running, lifting, swimming and cycling!
